Joey now holds the record for most wins, after ending Takeru “The Tsunami” Kobayashi’s six-year streak in 2007, when he ate 66 hot dogs and buns in 12 minutes.
So how does he plan to celebrate after his seventh consecutive win? “Relax and definitely go to sleep,” he said.
Matt “Megatoad” Stonie, who ate 51 hot dogs and buns, came in second place.
Furthermore, Joey, whose girlfriend, Neslie, stood in the front row and cheered him on, has no plans to slow down anytime soon. ”Seven is not the end,” he told the Daily News earlier this week. “Ten [years] is looking more and more likely.”
Women’s Hot Dog Eating Contest
In the women’s contest, Sonya “The Black Widow” Thomas won after eating 36 and three-quarters hot dogs. The runner-up, Juliet Lee, ate 36.
What do YOU think, HollywoodLifers? Are you surprised Joey ate 69 hotdogs?
