Our hearts are beating with anticipation! The Wimbledon finals take place this weekend, where Andy Murray and Novak Djokovic, as well as Sabine Lisicki and Marion Bartoli, will face off against each other. Who do you think will win it all?
Andy Murray, Novak Djokovic, Sabine Lisicki and Marion Bartoli will compete in the Wimbledon finals on July 6 and 7. The potential Wimbledon winners all secured a spot in the final after their hard-earned semi-final wins on July 4 and 5.
Wimbledon Finals 2013 — Men & Women Finalists: Who Will Win?
The Women (July 6)
Sabine advanced to her first Wimbledon final a couple of hours after Marion reached her second, USA TODAY reports.
Sabine beat Agnieszka Radwanska 6-4, 2-6, 9-7 on Centre Court after a grueling match on July 4.
“I just fought with all my heart,” she said. “I believed that I could still win no matter what the score was.”
Marion, on the other hand, took a quick 6-1, 6-2 victory over opponent Kirsten Flipkens. She reached the Wimbledon final in 2007, but lost to Venus Williams.
We fear it’ll be a tight matchup between Sabine and Marion, when they compete on July 6.
The Men (July 7)
As far as the gentlemen are concerned, Andy will get his shot at Novak, when they compete on July 7.
Murray reached his second straight Wimbledon final after defeating Jerzy Janowicz, 6-7 (2), 6-4, 6-4, 6-3. Going into the weekend, Andy doesn’t appear to be nervous about competing against Novak — at least right now.
“Novak is moving very, very well. But I (beat) him here at the Olympics, and I’ll take that thought into my head when I play him on Sunday. You never know. It depends on the day. Sometimes it can depend on how the match starts. Sometimes one player can be extremely nervous before. Who knows?” Murray said.
Andy’s final opponent, Novak, edged Juan Martin del Potro 7-5, 4-6, 7-6 (2), 6-7 (6), 6-3 on July 5 to close in on a second Wimbledon championship and seventh Grand Slam title overall.
Just like the ladies, this will be a thrilling match as well.
What do YOU think, HollywoodLifers? Who will be the Wimbledon champs this weekend?
