Chris, you weren’t exactly Mr. Sensitive when you split with Rihanna in May. HollywoodLife.com has finally discovered the real reason for your split — but it’s the way you handled it that was so hurtful to Rihanna.

Chris Brown, you had every right to break up with Rihanna. You can’t be in a relationship that makes you uncomfortable. But did you really have to dump her in such a public way after she sweetly confessed her hopes and dreams to you?

Chris Brown: Rihanna Was Being Honest & You Got Scared

HollywoodLife.com has learned exclusively that Rihanna told you she loved you and wanted to go to the next step in your relationship. She told you that she wanted to get more serious and that she wanted to have your baby one day — not now, but at some point in the future.

A source close to Rihanna told us:

When my girl tells you she loves you and wants to be serious with you and start a real life with you and maybe have your baby in the future, you turn her down and then put her on blast on a radio show — that’s all bad. Like, game over.

Yes, Chris. Rihanna poured out her heart to you about her hopes for the future, and you clearly freaked out. I get it — you’re young, just 23, and you’re absolutely not ready to be a dad, but Rihanna wasn’t talking about now. She was thinking that a family together would be wonderful one day.

Nevertheless, you clearly got major cold feet about your relationship and your reaction was insensitive.

Chris, Publicly Dissing Rihanna Is Not Right

Not only did you clearly relay to her that starting a family was NOT happening, but then you went on The Kyle & Jackie O Show in Sydney, Australia on May 5 and spoke very clearly about why you split — that’s harsh!

You told the radio hosts that you weren’t “wife-ing” Rihanna. “I’m going to do it solo,” you said. “At the end of the day [she's] already doing her thing, she’s on the road. The way I look at it . . . I’m always going to love that person, but people have differences, and people have different wants and needs.”

You know Chris, I’m sure that Rihanna felt that what went on between you two was in private and should stay private, and when she heard you clearly addressing her on the radio, the source close to her tells us she was shocked and hurt!

We can see why, and you should be able to see that now, too. She must have felt betrayed . . . especially since you went on to say that even more about the end of your relationship.

You’re Both Young, But Need To Be Sensitive Toward Each Other

“At the end of the day, she’s a young girl,” you said. “I can’t really be focused on wife-ing somebody that young . . . I’m young too. I just got to step forward and be a man and be the best Chris Brown I can be, instead of worrying about whoever else is going to be in my side pocket.”

Chris, of course you’re right that you’re both young, and you’re being honest admitting you’re not ready to be thinking about raising children.

But did you have to call out Rihanna in a totally public way so that the world absolutely knew that you two were done?

Were you that panicked by Rihanna’s confession of baby hopes that you couldn’t help yourself from saying what you did?

It’s been three months since that final split and you and Rihanna haven’t even spoken, even though sources tell HollywoodLife.com that you both still love one another.

Well Chris, if that’s true — and I think it is — it’s up to you to extend an olive branch to Rihanna and apologize.

An apology doesn’t have to mean that you’re ready to get back together with her, but you owe Rihanna a heartfelt apology for your public blabbing.

If you respect and love her still, then you should see why it’s the right thing to do. Plus, don’t you want to clear the air between you two so you can at least continue a friendship on some level?

So come on, Chris, you said you’re a man — now truly act like one.

Apologize in private to Rihanna for publicly calling out her and your split and then don’t talk about i! Lips zipped! Do you agree, HollywoodLifers? Let me know!
