On her birthday, Lea Michele continued to show her bravery and humility as she took to Twitter to thank fans for being so supportive during the most difficult time in her life.

Lea Michele‘s 27th birthday on Aug. 29 must have been an emotional day, the first in a long time without Cory Monteith by her side. But the strong Glee star put on a brave face and took the time to thank fans for their support during this incredibly hard time.

Lea Michele Tweets Thanks To Fans On Her Birthday

It’s been a hard summer for Lea and she’s still devastated over the death of her boyfriend, but it was very brave of her to thank her support system on Twitter on her birthday.

“Thank you guys for all the birthday love today:) So beyond thankful for all of you..,” she tweeted on Aug. 29.

Much like her Glee alter ego Rachel Berry, Lea held her head high during what understandably must have been an emotional day, especially since Cory, who passed away on July 13, reportedly was planning a birthday surprise for her.

"[Lea] didn't know what [Cory's surprise was]," a source told Us Weekly. "But she thought it could be a party and possibly a trip somewhere."

Lea Michele & Cory Monteith’s Plans Tragically Derailed

So sad. Lea and Cory were very in love before his tragic death — they were even making plans to move in together.

"Lea and Cory were planning on moving in together after he got back from Vancouver," a source said. They “weren't talking engagement or marriage yet, but it was heading that way. The first step was [that] Cory was going to move in [to Michele's L.A. home] completely. He was already there all the time."

"They were 100 percent happy and together and in love at the time of his death," the source added.

We’re so sorry for Lea and we hope she had the best birthday possible, even though we’re sure it was a tough one.
