Beyonce’s dramatic haircut may just be one of the biggest beauty stories this year, but will it be one of the biggest beauty trends? An expert hairstylist EXCLUSIVELY tells us just how this look should be rocked. Keep reading for all the deets.
We love Beyonce, 31, no matter what she does. As far as we’re concerned, the woman can do no wrong, style wise (we’ll even defend those Destiny’s Child-era red carpet color-coordinated ensembles she wore). So, obviously, we’re loving her pixie cut. But would we be able to rock it ourselves? An expert hairstylist EXCLUSIVELY spoke to HollywoodLife.com on who is best suited to follow in Beyonce’s footsteps.
Get Beyonce’s Hair — Is Her Pixie Right For You? Expert Tells All
Clearly, taking the plunge and getting a pixie cut takes some guts and is a huge commitment. So, you should know as much as possible about the cut before heading to your salon.
Wella celebrity stylist Claudio Lazo told us all about what it takes to rock a pixie cut. Claudio says that first and foremost: “The best type of face shape for that look is…high check bones, girls with round faces that have some sort of novelty in their look.”
But what exactly does the mean? “Full lips, high foreheads and long necks”, explains Claudio — and Beyonce’s amazing features certainly qualify.
A pixie is also great for women who want some versatility in their look because “it can look chic as well as funky” due to the fact that “you can go crazy using different products like texture pastes to gels.”
But Claudio says that the most important part of this look is your attitude! “The girl that wears this short look is a secure and confident woman. Think Audrey Hepburn in the 60's and Sophia Loren in the 50's”. Or Beyonce today!
