Usher and Tameka Raymond are through with one round of emergency custody hearings, but this won’t be the end. Tameka’s not happy with the end result of the August 9 hearing, and she’s already preparing for her return to the stand. The exes could use this family tragedy to unite for the sake of their 4- and 5-year-old sons.

After a bitter ongoing custody battle and multiple scary incidents in their family, Tameka Raymond and Usher‘s relationship grows more and more strained. But they can work to make their family’s heartache allow them to grow closer together, for the sake of their two young children. The best case scenario for the end result of their custody arrangement would be anything that allows the parents to love their sons and watch them grow — equally.

Usher & Tameka Raymond Can Strengthen Their Relationship After Tragedy

In a situation as scary as Usher Raymond V‘s near-drowning incident on August 5, it gets really easy to point fingers. Tameka should have been more involved with the boys and more aware of their activities. Usher should have been present. While both parents can argue their side of the story to a judge, it doesn’t change the fact that the 5-year-old had a brush with a tragedy.

They could just as easily argue that there should have been a protective cap over the pool’s drain: yes, there should have been, but there wasn’t.

Instead of placing blame, Usher and Tameka can work toward creating a stronger family unit for their boys as best as they know how. Whether this is in the form of physical presence or just not dismissing the other parent’s opinions, the boys can learn how to work issues out in less-than-ideal relationships.

Usher & Tameka Raymond Are No Strangers To Tragedy, And They Can Teach Kids How To Deal

I can completely understand why Tameka wanted to jump to get control over her sons when faced with this emergency. After all, she lost her own son Kile Glover just last summer, and as a result of a water accident! Any mom would jump to want to protect her kids where she could — and be completely rattled by being faced with a tragedy she never thought would happen again.

But a bitter custody battle only creates more animosity and resentment in the family, where they could be spending that energy fostering a more peaceful family situation. The boys are likely scared and confused as a result of their family’s taxing week, and they could only benefit from their family putting aside their differences to create a united support system. Little ones look to their parents to learn how to deal with stress, heartache, and loss — so both parents need to step up and set a better example.

Do you agree, HollywoodLifers? Do you think Tameka and Usher can put aside their differences and work to strengthen their relationship? Let me know below!
