Lamar Odom’s drug problems may be worse than anyone — including his wife, Khloe Kardashian – imagined. After falling deep into his addiction this summer, Lamar reportedly spent hundreds of dollars a day on “crack binges” as he partied with fellow drug users at his luxury apartment in The Roosevelt Lofts in downtown Los Angeles, according to a source close to the troubled NBA star. Lamar Odom: Drugs & Partying With Girls — Drug Addiction Details Revealed
Lamar’s alleged drug use got so out of control that he started exhibiting signs of paranoia, accusing security guards who were there to protect him of “spying on him,” a former security guard for Lamar tells HollywoodLife.com EXCLUSIVELY.
“I’ve been around people using crack before and when I worked for Lamar, his level of paranoia and his behavior was consistent with someone using crack,” the source says, adding:
One time that really stands out in my mind was a night I was working for Lamar at the beginning of the summer. I was with another security guard, we were driving Lamar and we took him to his loft in downtown LA and waited for him while he partied inside. It was an overnight shift and he was up the whole time because every half hour he would come out and demand to know what we were doing and why we were watching him. We’d have to remind him that we were working for him and then he’d calm down and apologize and go back in — and then boom, a half hour or an hour would go by and he’d be back again, accusing us of spying on him. It was nuts.
After TMZ reported that Lamar was sometimes spending as much as $1,000 a day on drugs, another source familiar with crack explains more about what they think Lamar may have been up to — and at what cost.
“When you go on a crack binge, $800 is not a lot. Remember he’s not partying alone — whenever there’s drugs, there’s users trying to get their share,” the source says. “When people party with crack, they don’t party by themselves — they get freaky on that stuff and they want girls around, and not just one girl, lots of girls. So $800 worth of drugs can go very fast. And to put it in perspective, Charlie Sheen was going through at least $2,000 or more a day.”
Poor Khloe! She’s been trying so hard to help Lamar battle his alleged addiction, but it sounds like he was probably out using and partying with other women the whole time. At the rate Lamar is going, it probably won’t be long before he hits rock bottom. We hope he will come to his senses and get the help he needs before it’s too late.
Lamar Odom’s Dangerous Drug Addiction
Lamar’s downward spiral reportedly began when the NBA season ended in May, and the abuse escalated over the following months.
The heavy abuse reportedly started when Lamar moved into a room at Hollywood’s Roosevelt Hotel, which TMZ reports actually happened in May, much earlier than previously reported. The hotel room was reportedly like a flop house, with Lamar being surrounded by seven or eight friends and fellow drug users — even strangers sometimes — who came in and out.
It seemed like Lamar was finally getting back on track on Sept. 4 when news broke that he had checked into a rehab facility. But after just one day of treatment, Lamar left. “Lamar checked into Robert Shapiro's rehab center, Pickford Lofts, in West LA and pulled an AMA — Against Medical Advice. He left a day later,” a source told HollywoodLife.com EXCLUSIVELY.
“Lamar isn't ready,” the source adds. We hope he will be soon.
