Cool confidence combined with a sweet, feminine vibe was the theme on the runway — and both Amber and Bella couldn’t get enough of the looks as they took them in from the front row!

When it comes to constructing a gorgeous evening gown, Tadashi Shoji clearly knows what he’s doing — and his ability to craft gorgeous, feminine dresses was on full display as he sent models down the runway at Lincoln Center on Sept. 5 during New York Fashion Week.

Tadashi Shoji Spring 2014:

Inspired by the French phrase, “joie de vivre,” (which translates to the joy of living), the looks were so pretty — but we saw a new femininity from the designer. Last season we loved the vintage, Downton Abbey vibe of the collection — but this was it’s cool, grown-up, empowered older sister. The Spring 2014 collection is for a modern, confident woman. She doesn’t simply sit back, she goes out and enjoys life to the fullest — and looks damn good while doing so!

Tadashi’s front row appropriately consisted of modern, feminine women who really let their confidence shine through. Bella Thorne, Amber Riley, and Alyssa Milano were just a few of the notable guests in attendance — and it was so fun watching them take in the show! Bella and Amber were both quick to snap pics of their fave looks on the runway, and Amber even gushed about the collection post-show while posing for photos with fans.

Pretty pastels in pale pink, pearl, lemon, and lavender ruled the Spring 2014 collection as the show opened with very simple, classic silhouettes. Pencil skirts were paired with shorter, cropped tops — it was a modern take on a women’s suit in my book! Many of the sleeveless dresses extended below the knee in an a-line silhouette, making them ideal for everything from a fancy luncheon to the red carpet or a cocktail party.

After a slew of separates and sheath dresses, it was time for the gowns. From ostrich-feather fringe to sheer skirts, the looks had a spirited, fun vibe to them. I really loved the gowns with the illusion necklines, where the dress seemed to just melt onto the model while the crystal-encrusted bodices almost seemed like second skin.

Bella’s fave seemed to be an crystal-embellished gown with a sheer skirt — it would look great on the red carpet! Amber also was a fan of the gowns.

Check out the collection above and let us know what you think of Tadashi Shoji’s Spring 2014 line!
