Monica, 32, and her NBA husband Shannon Brown welcomed a beautiful 6-pound baby girl named Laiyah on Sept. 3. This is the couple’s first daughter together. They announced their exciting news on Sept. 6. Monica Gives Birth: Singer & Husband Shannon Brown Welcome A Baby Girl Named Laiyah Laiyah is the couple’s first child together, and the first baby girl in the family! Monica has two sons, Rodney and Romelo, with rapper Rocko. Shannon has a son named Christopher. Family friend Vanessa Bryant — wife of Kobe Bryant — broke the news on her Instagram account on Sept. 6, posting a pic of Monica and Shannon with the following message: I am so honored to announce that baby Laiyah Brown has arrived!
