HollywoodLife.com went backstage during Mercedes Benz Fashion Week to get a behind-the-scenes look at the Tadashi Shoji fashion show on September 5, where we were told the inspiration behind the model’s look and how you can achieve it!

The fashion show featured a look that had a mix of street glam hair along with polished and natural makeup. The wavy hair and side part were not overpowering, as the soft make-up kept the look polished. Find out below how you can get the look, directly from the artists who created it!

Tadashi Shoji Runway – Easy, Breezy Glam Hair & Makeup

Hairstylist Rodney Cutler explained the look to HollywoodLife.com. Redken products were the source behind his work. Rodney said that the hair for the show was “inspired by a very street glam woman.”

The hair is not overpowering — the rest of the look and is young, as “any young girl can do this look herself.”

The garage glam woman has textured, dry hair which makes the look more editorial. He said that the main Redken product used was Wool Shake — this created the bend in the hair!

To get the look, apply a medium sized amount to dry hair, which will give you that voluminous, wavy, and effortless look!

Pro-Tip: Rodney told us that while using this product, he back combed the roots to give the hair a grunge-type feel.

All Redken products are available at ULTA stores.

A Natural Makeup Look That Leaves Skin Glowing

Makeup artist Lisa Houghton told HollywoodLife.com that she was inspired in Italy “by the pastel colors in the architecture and the faded fresco paintings.”

The look features an ethereal woman, which as Lisa said, “shows off the models natural and beautiful skin.”

To get this look she used MAC Face and Body, which she told us is “a very light, sheer foundation which illuminates and enhances the skin rather than camouflages.”

For the eyes, a little bit of mascara and an avoidance of heavy eyeliner helped to create the soft look. Use MAC Prolong Wear Uninterrupted across the lids.

The “eyebrows were enhanced with eyeshadow one shade lighter than their hair color (eyeshadow is softer than pencil) and kept in place with clear eyebrow gel.” Use MAC Clear Gel Brow Set to get the exact look!

The lips were kept natural as Lisa used Fleshpot mixed with Casual Colour.
