After an unbelievable shootout between Chris Dorner and the police in Big Bear, CA on Feb. 12, the alleged police killer is reported to have been killed by a local sheriff’s department sniper.
After being accused of killing multiple police officers and wounding even more, Chris Dorner is reported to be dead on Feb. 12. Following a shootout with police in a cabin in Big Bear, CA, the cabin became engulfed in flames. Before that, Chris was reportedly shot down by a sniper.
Christopher Dorner Shot Dead By Police Sniper
The original hope was to take Chris alive, but after a war zone-like shootout, a standoff, and the fire, Chris is reported to be dead, though this hasn’t been confirmed. Neal Barton, the news director for a NBC affiliate in Texas, tweeted, “We have confirmation from the Los Angeles Police Department the ex-cop from LA was shot and killed by a local sheriff’s department sniper.” After multiple attempts to force the wanted man out of the cabin with tear gas and a flame filled engulfing of the cabin, the police have done everything in their power to make sure they got their man. And they it looks as if they have, as Chris Dorner is now reported deceased.
The Manhunt & Shootout Leading Up To Chris Dorner’s Death
Media helicopters were asked by authorities and the FAA to remove themselves from the area as they were in incredible danger. The ex-LAPD officer who is now believed dead was barricaded in a cabin for hours in Big Bear and he was heavily armed.
The week-long search for Christopher Dorner has had many people on edge. With a million dollar reward in the mix, even a Lowe’s was evacuated over someone thinking they saw Chris in the facility.
Throughout the day, there wasn’t concret confirmation that Chris was the person in the shootout, with the LAPD even saying, "Until we can confirm that he's either there or he's not there, this investigation has to stick with what we know and what we know is that we found evidence that he was there."
Chris was even spotted buying scuba equipment in Torrance, Calif., on Feb. 1, two days before he killed the police union rep's daughter Monica Quan and her fiance Keith Lawrence.
With this, it looks like the week-long nightmare has come to an end. Our thoughts remain with all the victims of this rampage, as well as their families and friends.
