The Killing‘s Season 3 cast continues to take shape.
Peter Sarsgaard (An Education, Kinsey) is set to tackle his first recurring TV role in AMC’s dark crime drama, playing Tom Seward, a death-row inmate for whom the clock is ticking down. Described as “a lifelong convict born into poverty and crime,” Sarsgaard’s character has “been in and out of the system for violent crimes since he was 10.” Determined to never be seen as weak, Seward approaches every interaction with the goal of dominating it.
Sarsgaard joins fellow Season 3 newbies Amy Seimetz (announced earlier today), Elias Koteas (Combat Hospital) and Max Fowler.
The new season of The Killing (which AMC ordered only months after sending it to the guillotine) picks up a year after the events of the Season 2 finale and will focus on a single mystery which — unlike the case of “Who killed Rosie Larsen?” — will resolve over the course of 12 episodes.
Executive producer, writer and showrunner Veena Sud will return, as will lead actors Mireille Enos and Joel Kinnaman.
