Jennifer Beals has landed a lead role in the ABC drama pilot Venice – and she’s not the only L Word alum joining the project.
Ilene Chaiken — who created the acclaimed Showtime series — is also headed to Venice, coming on board as showrunner and exec producer, our sister site Deadline reports.

From Without a Trace's Byron Balasco, the Romeo and Juliet-esque soap explores two rival families living in the famed California beach town and the forbidden, dangerous romance that emerges between them. Beals will play the elegant Lisa Carver, matriarch to one of the two feuding clans.
Beals’ most recent TV credits include The Mob Doctor, Castle and The Chicago Code.
