This look is all about the comfort, which is appropriate for her long flight, but she does not sacrifice any of her Oscar-nominee glamour to get it! The only polarizing aspect of her look is her frosted pink lipstick!
Frosted lipstick tends to look dated — think early 1990s frosted everything! — if not done properly. J.Law’s light metallic shade is actually pretty cool, but it over accentuates her chapping lips! The shiny shade would look much better on smooth lips. We don’t blame her for having angry chapping in this bitter winter cold, but we’ve got tips to keeping lips looking and feeling moisturized.
Tips For Keeping Your Lips Moisturized During Long Flights
Cold winter air robs your skin — and lips! — of the precious moisture that you need to keep everything soft and supple. The terrible air pressure inside airplane cabins has the same effect, making it nearly impossible to catch a break and let your lips recuperate. Of course, there are always medicated lip balms that will heal and soothe chapping, but prevent extra dryness by avoiding alcohol and drinking tons of water, especially on a flight.
When your classic lip balms just aren’t cutting it, try a gentle sugar scrub to exfoliate your lips and slough off the dead skin for a fresh canvas for lipstick application. If you’re in a pinch, you can always use actual sugar — even the kind in the mini packets you get with your tea! Mix it with the tiniest bit of water to make a paste and gently rub it on your lips to exfoliate. It’s tempting to scrub, but don’t overdo it or your lips will turn bright red!
Once your lips are prepped, your cool lip color will glide right on and look great!
