Free Chief Keef! Well, his freedom is almost here today, on Mar. 14. But before he gets out of juvenile detention, he’s announcing his comeback with the video for ‘Now It’s Over.’ Watch it below!
Classic Chief Keef – releasing a music video just hours before being released from juvenile detention after serving a 60-day sentence.
Chief Keef: Celebrates Release With ‘Now It’s Over’
The video for “Now It’s Over” has dropped on the same day that he gets out of jail after serving a two-month sentence for violating his probation and pointing a gun at Chicago police officers. He was previously on parole after facing charges for heroin manufacturing and distribution, and three counts of assault.
“Now It’s Over” doesn’t exactly suggest that Sosa is “rehabilitated” — “I’m gonna kill these beasts like a f**cking soldier” and “I don’t hold no hoe for ransom” are a couple choice lines.
But Chief’s out and is sending the message that no one can stop him now!
Chief Keef: A New Music Video & More
Though the song definitely reps Chief’s status as a gangster, the video sort of doesn’t. First of all, it seems to take place entirely inside a house in the suburbs, and mostly on the staircase of said suburban house. The only time the camera deviates from the stairs is to showcase a few members of Chief Keef’s posse, one of whom is getting his hair cut in the middle of the living room.
If you’ve seen MTV Cribs, this is like that but weirder.
The “Free Sosa” movement Chief started from inside the prison walls is in full motion now. On the heels of his new music video, Chief Keef will release a new mixtape, titled Bang the Mixtape Pt. 2, in the very near future.
We’re looking forward to it! What about you, HollywoodLifers?
