A source close to the situations tells HollywoodLife.com exclusively that when Chris, 23, told Karrueche, 24, his love for Rihanna, 25, was still very much alive, it crushed the aspiring model.
Karrueche Tran’s Heartbroken Over Chris Brown’s Love For Rihanna
“That broke her heart because she thought she could be number one in his life,” the source reveals exclusively to HollywoodLife.com, adding that despite Karrueche knowing from the beginning that Chris always had feelings for Rihanna, she “thought that over time, things could change between them.”
In an interview with Hot 97 on Apr.1, Chris admitted that he told both women he was preparing to release a self-made video, where he would discuss being in love with two people simultaneously.
A source close to Karrueche tells HollywoodLife.com that while she prefers to keep the situation under wraps, it was bound to get out in the open. The source says:
“He told her about how he was going to be doing a video, talking about how he was in love with two people and she was like ‘um, what the f**k. But, something was bound to happen because it wasn’t like a well kept secret. She was like, ‘whatever, Chris is going to be Chris,’ and she just went with it.”
Chris Brown & Karrueche Tran Remain Friends
Chris had drawn a very clear line, and he’s been up front and honest with both Rihanna and Karrueche from the get go. Now, Karrueche supports his decision and they remain good friends.
“They’re in a much better place,” the source adds. “They’re friends, he put her up on the clothing game and got her connected with the right people so she’s straight. She’s very thankful for all he’s done for her and she still loves him, as a friend.”
