After Reese Witherspoon was spotted in Nashville on March 31 with brown hair, Ellen DeGeneres followed her lead! The talk show host tweeted a pic of her short, brown hair on April 1 — but is it just an April Fools’ Joke?

Both Ellen and Reese are known for their signature blonde hair. But Ellen’s definitely does appear to be a prank, since on her April 2 show, she’s back to rocking the blonde! We’re so happy Ellen’s show is new again — she just got back from a two week trip to Australia and we can’t wait to hear about it!

Reese Witherspoon’s Brown Hair — It’s For Her New Movie
This isn’t the first time Reese has gone to the dark side. She famously dyed her hair brown for her role as June Carter in 2005′s Walk The Line. This time, it’s for a role in her upcoming film The Good Lie.
About her darker ‘do, she told InStyle magazine: “My hair was dyed dark brown for Walk the Line. It was a very sophisticated style for me.”
We were obsessed with her blonde, glamourous, retro curls at the 2013 Oscars but we’re really digging this new side of Reese as well! It’s always good to switch things up occasionally, right HollywoodLifers?
