The competition is getting real on ‘America’s Got Talent,’ as eight acts were eliminated during the talent show’s first voting cut on July 24. Did your favorite(s) make it to the next round?
It’s all fun and games on America’s Got Talent – until your favorite act gets eliminated for good. One set of 12 acts from Vegas performed, and then eight were eliminated, on the July 24 episode. On the bright side, we were also treated to a fantastic performance of “Beneath Your Beautiful” from Emeli Sandé and Labrinth.
A Mass Exodus On ‘America’s Got Talent’
The first round of eliminations consisted of comedian Kevin Downey, Jr., escape artist Alexanderia the Great, and the brother-sister rock band Aarylyn & Izzy. While we believed either Kevin or Alexanderia would make it to the next round since Aarylyn & Izzy were panned by the judges, it turns out all three were eliminated! And this was just the first shocker of the night.
The next round had levitation guru Special Head and the dance groups Hype and Fresh Faces. Since all three previous acts had been sent home, we thought for sure one act from this group would make it through. Nope, we were wrong. Again. All three acts were sent packing.
At this point in the show, there are NO returning performers. This is nuts. America’s Got Talent has us on the edge of our seats. For good reason!
Who Stays, Who Goes?
The dance group Tella Vision, magician Collins Key, and the acrobatic Kristef Brothers were up next. Both Collins and the Kristef Brothers were praised by the judges in the July 23 episode so it was no surprise they both were sent to the next round. Whew, someone makes it through!
The final round of the band American Hitmen and singers Anna Christine and Branden James literally had us on the edge of our seats. All three were fantastic in their first live performance.
So, would all three make it or none at all? Branden was the first one sent to the next round but that was wasn’t unexpected. However, Anna Christine and American Hitmen were left standing. Cue the nail biting.
The judges were then forced to choose between the 11-year-old singer and the band of war veterans. Heidi Klum and Howard Stern choose Anna Christine while Howie Mandel and Mel B choose American Hitmen, creating a tie. The decision is then left to the votes again and America went with…
Anna Christine! The young singer has another live show to prove her $1 million act!
