Get your dollar bills ready because Channing Tatum has announced that he’s taking his stripper blockbuster, ‘Magic Mike,’ to Broadway, HollywoodLife.com’s sister site Deadline reports!
Magic Mike, the film based partially on Channing Tatum’s early days a stripper, is heading to Broadway, the actor confirmed on his website.

“The show will be produced by Channing Tatum and his partner Reid Carolin, along with the film's director Steven Soderbergh and co-producers Gregory Jacobs and Nick Wechsler. Songs will be written by Tom Kitt and Brian Yorkey, the creators of other Tony- and Pulitzer-winning Broadway hits like 'Next To Normal,' and the book will be written by Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa,” Channing’s official website says.
Magic Mike is a story about a veteran stripper, Magic Mike, played by Channing, who teaches a rookie, played by Alex Pettyfer, about the profession. The movie version also starred Matt Bomer, Joe Manganiello and Olivia Munn.
‘Magic Mike’ On Broadway: Opening Date, Actors & A Film Sequel
There’s no confirmation on when the curtain will rise on the Broadway production or who is set to star yet, but the group is said to be fast tracking the project, HollywoodLife.com’s sister site Deadline reports. (Our fingers are crossed for Channing and Alex to star in the project!)
Meanwhile, a Magic Mike sequel is also in the works. In July 2012, Channing, 33, told Glamour UK that he's "working on the concept" for the second installment, adding that he wants to "flip the script and make it bigger."
