Do you ever feel like you…smell…because your deodorant has worn off? It’s not the most pleasant topic, but it’s one that affects a lot of women, so we got an expert derm to comment on your top underarm concerns!

Expert dermatologist Dr. Lori Haddad is answering YOUR questions and concerns about underarm freshness — so you can look and feel like a Hollywood star! Do you ever feel like your sweat stinks and your deodorant isn’t doing its job? Here’s how to fix the problem!

My Deodorant Doesn’t Last — What Can I Do?

Dr. Lori breaks down the embarrassing issue EXCLUSIVELY for HollywoodLife.com readers:

There are two types of sweating — there is eccrine gland and apocrine gland sweating, and especially for under the armpit, we have both of those. Apocrine gland sweating is the one that has the smell to it. Eccrine is just that wetness, which we also see sometimes on our palms. To camouflage the smell, antiperspirant is the really the key.

To stop the smell, some people believe they need to get a stronger antiperspirant, but that usually causes side effects and can be more trouble!

There are some prescription antiperspirants with a 20% or higher amount of aluminum chloride, but many consumers cannot tolerate those at all. It causes a lot of contact dermatitis and irritation. So first we recommend the strongest antiperspirant over the counter — I have always recommended Sure Deodorant. I think it’s a great thing to be able to offer to men and women.

In our poll, over 23 percent of you said you felt like your deodorant didn’t last long enough. Sure lasts all day, so you will never have to deal with wetness or an unpleasant smell!
