DJ Khaled laid his heart on the line on July 25, proposing to Nicki Minaj in an amazing, heartfelt video for MTV News. Nicki, 30, finally responded with an answer during an interview with Hot 97′s Funkmaster Flex on July 29.
Nicki Minaj Responds To DJ Khaled’s Marriage Proposal
Like many fans, Nicki didn’t take DJ Khaled’s proposal too seriously.
I was shocked just like the rest of the world and I was cracking up laughing with the rest of the world 'cause Khaled is a master at what he does.
Calling Khaled, 37, a master seems appropriate because the rapper managed to promote his upcoming album Suffering From Success during the proposal. In the video, the rapper mentioned how he and Nicki both are "suffering from success.” (Creative, no?)
It was just another way for him to kinda give the world a glimpse on the feeling of this record. Nobody in my real life took it seriously. Everybody just hit me like, 'LOL. Yo, Khaled is crazy.’
Nicki Minaj: DJ Khaled Was Kidding
And to set the record straight, Nicki shot down any chance of a potential engagement between her and DJ Khaled. She said:
“Khaled is my brother and Khaled was not serious with that damn proposal, ya'll. Please let it go. He was kidding. He's not attracted to me, he doesn't like me. We're brother and sister.
