Lucas Cruikshank, 19, has got one very famous fan! The YouTube star, who confirmed that he is gay in a new video on August 20, was tweeted by none other than superstar Cher, who said she is “proud” of him coming out. Click to see Lucas’ amazing thank you video to Cher!
Lucas Cruikshank — Cher Tweets Her Support For Gay Star
Icon and hit maker Cher privately tweeted Lucas to say “proud of you!” after he came out on YouTube.
“My family and friends have known for, like, three years,” he says in the video. “I just haven’t felt the need to announce it on the internet.”
Now, that he has, he has gotten a lot of support! After seeing Cher’s tweet, he made a cute Instagram video, where he sang her hit “Believe.” Lucas wrote “THIS IS HOW I FEEL ABOUT CHER DM’ING ME TODAY.”
Lucas really shouldn’t be using his phone while driving, but I’m sure Cher will appreciate the gesture.
Lucas tweeted in response to all of his fans, “I honestly love you all so much. Your support is everything and I’m glad you liked the video ☺”
Lucas Cruikshank Comes Out On YouTube
In the video posted on August 20, Lucas revealed he’s gay, suggesting that it shouldn’t come as much of a shock.
“When you first met me, did you know I was gay?” he asks his friend Jennifer Veal, to which she responds “yeah” without even a hint of hesitation.
Aside from his popularity on Fred, Lucas also starred on the short-lived Nickelodeon sitcom Marvin Martian from 2012 to 2013.
