How awful. A 911 call placed after Gia was found following an attempted suicide on August 12 has hit the internet, revealing how her mother and boyfriend tried dramatically and frantically to revive her.
Gia Allemand’s mother and boyfriend, Ryan Anderson, fought tirelessly — though unfortunately futilely — to save her from an attempted suicide on August 12, calling 911 and frantically trying to keep her going by continuously administering CPR.
Gia Allemand: Her Boyfriend’s 911 Call Released
The 911 call, obtained by TMZ, details the whole haunting experience. Presumably made moments after Gia was found by Ryan and her mother in her New Orleans home, the call plays back their attempt to revive Gia using CPR.
Though the audio is choppy, Ryan can be heard relaying CPR instructions from the 911 operator to another person, presumably Gia’s mom. “Keep going… don’t stop,” Ryan says over the phone. He sounds calm, but there is also a sense of dread in his voice.
The call is extremely horrific, and it just makes Gia’s sad circumstances feel even more real. As we all know, Ryan and Gia’s mother’s attempts to save her failed. After being rushed to the hospital, Gia remained in the ICU — and Ryan and her mother remained there by her side — until she passed away on August 14.
Gia Allemand’s Boyfriend: She Was ‘The Most Beautiful Person I Knew’
Since Gia’s death, Ryan has tried to maintain that level of calm he displayed on the 911 call, though his pain is apparent. On August 14, the grieving NBA player released a statement saying:
I'm deeply grateful for all the love and support we have received from family, friends and fans. Gia was the most beautiful person I knew inside and out and she always smiled and made everyone else around her smile. She had such an amazing impact on my life and anyone that knew her was blessed. All I have left is to cherish those memories we made together and help perpetuate the many values, faith and love that we shared.
Ryan is clearly extremely strong, as both this humble statement and his focused manner on the 911 call show. We cannot imagine the pain is currently going through though. Our thoughts and prayers go out to him, as well as Gia’s friends and family in this very difficult time.
