Lea is still struggling with the tragic death of her beloved boyfriend Cory Monteith. Fortunately, the ‘Glee’ actress has a strong support system, and she has been taking comfort in the small things — including the films of her favorite performer, Barbra. Read on for all the EXCLUSIVE details about what’s making Lea smile.

As a self-described Barbra Streisand worshipper, Lea Michele is finding joy and laughter in her favorite performer’s films. Lea’s close friend and Spring Awakenings co-star Remy Zaken also helped her find some happiness during these challenging times without Cory Monteith, who died from an overdose a little over a month ago.

Lea Michele: Barbra Streisand Movies Are ‘Healing’ After Cory Monteith’s Death

Lea has had a rough time over the past few weeks, but her loved ones have been helping her work through her grief.

“Lea has the most amazing friends who have been supporting her nonstop since the tragic passing of Cory,” a friend of Lea’s tells HollywoodLife.com EXCLUSIVELY.

“Lea and her closest friends have been watching tons of Barbra Streisand movies, like Funny Girl and What’s Up Doc, to lift her spirits. They make her laugh, which has been really healing for her.”

On August 14, Lea tweeted, “Got this in the mail yesterday from my girl @remyzaken..Made me smile :),” along with a photo of a Funny Girl Playbill featuring Barbra.

We’re so glad Lea is able to smile again in the midst of so much suffering. We hope she’s feeling better!

Lea Michele Is A Longtime Barbra Streisand Fan

On her Twitter page, Lea describes herself as an “Actor, Singer, Streisand Worshipper and New Yorker.”

Lea is a pretty intense fan! We told you she even threw a party in honor of Barbra’s 70th birthday last year.

“She has always celebrated Barbra’s birthday,” an insider told us EXCLUSIVELY.

“One of Lea's biggest dreams is to star in a remake of Funny Girl, which was Barbra's first movie role,” Lea's friend reveals. “In fact, one of Lea's other biggest dreams is to have Barbra actually be on Glee, where the two could perform the song 'Evergreen' together.”

It’s so great that Barbra’s film legacy is helping Lea heal, and we hope she will one day have the chance to sing with her idol.

What do YOU think HollywoodLifers, would you like to see Lea and Barbra sing together on Glee?
