Kim: it was great to see you on the August 2 episode of Kris Jenner’s talk show, ‘Kris.’ But in case you’re feeling pressure to go public, I want to reassure you that you are entitled to take as long as you want before stepping out.

Kim Kardashian: little Nori West was born 45 days ago, and you and Kanye West have made a smart decision to stay out of the limelight as much as possible.

Kim Kardashian Doesn’t Let Pressure Get To Her

Most women in this country don’t have to worry about what people will say about their latest outfit, their skin, their hair, and their post-baby bodies.

But you’re Kim Kardashian, and you’ve spent years building a highly lucrative career in which one of your biggest assets is your gorgeous, voluptuous body.

You’ve also gained fame for your own unique and sophisticated style, and are considered a fashion icon in many circles.

It’s for all these reasons that you were very much in a fishbowl while you were pregnant.

Your courageous fashion choices may not have delighted all of your fans, but they absolutely were compelled to see every look AND have an opinion about it.

I know you felt that pressure — you spoke out about it on your personal blog on May 21 to defend your controversial fashion choices:

It’s funny because people comment saying, ‘Don’t wear tight things,’ but anyone who has been pregnant knows it feels so secure being held in, and wearing something tight and supportive. For any concern that my clothes are too tight, I have so many pieces custom-fit for my growing body…I feel my best when I’m in heels and chic clothes! Happy mommy, happy baby!

And Kim, that was great of you to stand up for your own personal choices. You weren’t going to be bullied into having people you didn’t even know force you to be more conventional.

Kim’s Choice Of Baby Name Was Courageous

You and Kanye showed the same courage sticking to your personal choice of a name for North.

You resisted the family tradition of choosing a name that started with a “K,” even though you and Kanye both coincidentally have “K” names.

Then, you and Kanye fell in love with the idea of calling your beautiful newborn daughter North, even though you knew the Twitterverse would go wild!

It seemed like everyone on the planet had an opinion on North West’s name.

Nevertheless, you and Kanye felt that the name represented your hopes and dreams for your little girl, a source told HollywoodLife.com EXCLUSIVELY.

It’s what Kanye wanted to name his child, no matter if it was a boy or a girl. Kim thought it was an interesting name too, and they went with it. They didn’t want their child to have a name everybody else already has; they wanted something creative and fun, and North it is! Kanye doesn’t think he’s a star, but he thinks his little girl is — and her name, North, points in that direction.

Kim: Don’t Feel Pressure To Go ‘Public’ Immediately

So Kim, you have not bowed to pressure in the past, whether it was filing for divorce from Kris Humphries after 72 days because you know the marriage was a giant mistake, nor bowing to Hollywood pressure to diet off your gorgeous curves.

So please don’t feel any pressure to go out “publicly” to show off your shrinking body or to promote one of your many business ventures. Most women get six to eight weeks of paid maternity leave; some are fortunate to be able to stretch it to three months or longer.

But when they return to work, and “their public,” they’re not expected to have dieted and exercised off every extra baby inch. No one gives them the evil eye if they wear their stretchy maternity clothes for a few months and show up with a little bit of baby spit-up on their shirts.

Kim: you understand, however, that you’re an icon and role model for many and that you are in a fishbowl.

The moment you step out in public, the paparazzi will pounce and your photos will be everywhere. Every photographer will want to get that snap of “Kim’s first appearance.”

And then once they have the pictures and they circulate, your every inch will be perused. How much weight has she lost? Enough? Too much? Or just right?

Those who think it’s too much will worry that you’re developing an eating disorder as you stress out about quick weight loss. Others will “tsk tsk” that you’ll never lose the weight and be sexy bikini Kim again.

Oh lord! Who needs that?

That’s why you should just take your time before fully “reappearing.” Why not? You’ve worked extremely hard — why shouldn’t you take the time you need to feel and look the way you’re comfortable with? You’ve earned a break for as long as you want with your precious baby Nori.

Kanye has your back. He fully supports whatever you do, and he’s even been a little prickly about privacy — unfortunately having a couple not-so-pleasant run-ins with paparazzi.

He’s nervous because he’s worried about you and your baby. He’s protective, as he should be, about the two women he loves most in the world.

Kim: You Looked Gorgeous On ‘Kris’

I think your personal appearance on your mom Kris Jenner‘s talk show was the perfect way to slowly reintroduce yourself to the world. You came in via video to wish your mom a big congrats on her new show:

Hi Mom, I just wanted to say congratulations on your new show. I'm sorry I couldn't be there in person but I'm just loving life at home too much right now. I watch you every single day. You are so amazing, you really were born to do this. I just wanted to say I love you and have an amazing show.

You looked beautiful on the screen, which artfully cropped you just above the bust. Your dark hair was stunning and you sounded happy and at peace. And it was enough.

It’s okay to let your fans and the public wait. Soon enough, you’ll be plunged into all the professional commitments you can’t put off any longer.

Kim: A Magazine Cover With North West Isn’t Crucial To Your Popularity

And as for having little North’s first photo shoot or TV appearance — take your time on that too! And if you never shoot a magazine cover with her — who cares? Both you and Kanye have plenty of money and fame. Only do what you and Kanye are comfortable with. It must be a joint family decision.

Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes waited five months before they appeared on the October 2006 issue of Vanity Fair. Many celebrities bypass the baby pictures altogether.

Maybe you’ll do your own photos eventually and post them on your own blog, to take the paparazzi heat off.

But in any case, take your time. You don’t have to hurry. You, Kanye and North West have long lives ahead and plenty of time to be out in public. And whenever YOU decide to go public and then you decide to go public with Nori, there will be gargantuan interest whenever that day comes — so don’t worry that you won’t make a big impact. The world is waiting for you, Kim, so the decision is up to you and Kanye.

Do you agree, HollywoodLifers? Should Kim take her time before going public, especially with North West?
