The collection, which stayed true to the brand’s signature aesthetic, would look great on all of it’s celeb fans — and that includes Heidi and Selena! Check out our fave looks right here.
BCBG is always the show that officially kicks off New York Fashion Week, and that’s exactly what the brand did on Sept. 5 at Lincoln Center in NYC, where Max and Lubov Azria debuted their Spring 2014 line to a packed house — and a crowded front row filled with famous fans!
BCBG Spring 2014 Runway:
Among those in the audience we spotted Jamie Chung, the E! Fashion Police cast, and models like Selita Ebanks and Heidi Klum. Heidi, dressed in an edgy look that consisted of black leather pants, gushed about the brand — and she even told us she would be wearing a BCBG gown when she sits in the front row for the Project Runway finale show on Sept. 6!
The collection was very spring, featuring crisp whites and soft, light chambrays featured on many of the airy, loose silhouettes that are such a signature for the brand. While the muted colors are perfect for the spring season, we really fell in love with the abstract prints and the way they managed to blend vibrant, eye-catching florals with geometric patterns. Sheer detailing gave an airy feel to a variety of looks in the collection and we spotted it on everything from jumpsuits to gowns.
The printed pieces in the collection immediately reminded us of Selena Gomez! While the 21-year-old star has evolved and often wears sexy, edgy looks on the red carpet, when it comes to her day to day dressing she still loves to show off cool, boho chic styles — and we could totally see her rocking the floral and sheer jumpsuit above! Light trenches and separates in the collection would also work on the star.
Although there were many shapeless silhouettes in the collection we also spied a crop top here or there — a sign that the trend is here to stay! Hey, we can’t say we’re mad about it.
While the boho chic prints might be best suited for Selena, we could totally see Heidi in one of the sexier looks — especially the black, sheer finale gown! With a little editing this would look great on the model and still allow her to flaunt her fantastic figure. We could also see her rocking a sheer top or leather vest over leather pants or even jeans.
