HollywoodLife.com got our hands on a special featurette, including intimate interviews with the stars of ‘The White Queen!’

At times, the story of Starz’ The White Queen sounds almost too extraordinary to be true — even for star Rebecca Ferguson and her castmates – but as you’ll learn in this special behind-the-scenes featurette, the events very much unfolded as you see them every week.

Perhaps Philippa Gregory, who wrote the novels upon which The White Queen is based, sums it up best:

It’s a really extraordinarily romantic story. Personally, I wouldn’t make it up. It’s far too romantic for me, as a novelist, but it’s what actually happened.

It’s also fascinating to hear how the actors — including Edward (Max Irons) and Richard (James Frain) — interpret their characters’ motivations.

With so much history to digest, it’s no wonder Starz recently gave fans a chance to catch up on the series’ first three episode Aug. 31. The next all-new installment airs Sept. 7 at 9 p.m., so be sure to brush up on your history!

Watch a behind-the-scenes look at The White Queen below, then tune into episode four Sept. 7:
