The songstress flaunts her fantastic post-baby body in a bikini, marking the first time she has ever covered the mag, and reveals that she had a mere three months to bounce back into shape — read on to find out how she did it!
Beyonce puts her toned figure on full display on the April 2013 cover of Shape magazine, where the multi-tasking mom admits that bouncing back and getting her fantastic figure in tip-top shape wasn’t easy! “I’m not a person that is naturally very thin, I’m a person that has to work at keeping my body in shape,” she confesses, “I didn’t have a lot of time to lose the weight because I scheduled a show three months after I gave birth, which I would never do again!” The 31-year-old singer gained a total of 57 pounds while pregnant, but it looks like she managed to shed all of the extra weight — we’ve never seen her look better! So, how did she do it?
How Beyonce Got Her Body Back:
The singer is clearly driven and focused when she’s on stage, and she put the same determination to use when working towards getting her pre-baby body back, saying that a healthy diet and dance workouts helped achieve her fantastic, post-baby figure. “For me, dancing is what keeps me active,” she says in a behind-the-scenes video with the mag. “Everyone is not supposed to be the same. Be healthy and take care of yourself but be happy with the beautiful things that make you you,” she says.
“Talking about weight can be a very touchy subject for women, but Beyonce was willing to do it because she wanted to make every woman out there feel like she too could achieve what she did,” SHAPE editor-in-chief Tara Kraft says.
We think Queen Bey looks absolutely amazing on her first-ever cover for the mag, and it’s so inspiring to hear the star admit to her struggles with maintaining her fantastic figure — we’re sure many women at home can relate to Beyonce! She also proves that even if you do have to work at it, you can look amazing in a bikini, just like she does!
