Sadly, Lil’ Wayne’s medical condition has not improved enough to be moved out of intensive care after six days, according to a new report.
While Lil’ Wayne‘s friends have tweeted that he’s doing well, they may not be revealing how grave his medical situation remains, according to a new report.
Six days after Lil’ Wayne suffered a series of terrifying seizures, the rapper remains in intensive care in the hospital and is being monitored closely by doctors at L.A.’s Cedars-Sinai, according to TMZ.
Nicki Minaj Became Emotional After Visiting Hospital
Along with Drake and Birdman, American Idol judge Nicki Minaj also visited Weezy in the hospital, and got very emotional, a source exclusively told HollywoodLife.com.
“She cried because she didn't want to see him in the hospital with s**t in his arms and doctors around,” the source said. While she didn’t know what to bring him for a “get well soon” gift, she showed up with chocolates! She “just wanted to be there for him,” the source said.
Lil’ Wayne Could Have Permanent Liver Damage
Although Weezy is on his way to recovery, his body may not ever fully recover.
“We’re glad that [Lil Wayne] is getting better, but he’s not out of the woods yet,” an insider told MediaTakeOut.com
The report also said that while the doctors are doing everything possible to be sure the rapper is back to being healthy, they believe he will most likely suffer some permanent damage to his liver.
In addition to the seizures suffered, many reports claim that Weezy also consumed a great deal of “sizzurp,” a mixture that he created which involves cough syrup and alcohol.
If so, he’s extremely lucky to be alive.
Dr. Phil Dembo told HollywoodLife.com exclusively that a mixture of codeine and promethazine “increases heart rate and causes liver damage.”
“It's like drinking poison,” he said. ”A person can overdose on this poisonous mixture. A mixture of substances in order for a high is a dangerous way to party.”
In the past, Wayne has been approached about his unhealthy lifestyle, and has fired back by saying “I'm gonna do what I want… I don't care if it was heroin in my cup. It's my cup, f-ck you.”
Well, we’re happy that Lil’ Wayne is recovering. Here’s to hoping that this will be a wake up call and cause Weezy to start living a healthier life.
