Good news! Lil Wayne’s medical condition is improving as a new report claims the rapper has been moved out of the intensive care unit at Cedars-Sinai hospital in Los Angeles!

Things are finally starting to look up for Lil Wayne. The rapper, who has been in the intensive care unit of the Cedars-Sinai hospital in L.A. for six days after a series of life-threatening seizures, was reportedly deemed well enough by doctors on Mar. 18 to be moved out of the ICU and into a “regular” room at the hospital!

TMZ reports that Wayne’s doctors determined that his condition had stabilized, allowing the 30-year-old rapper to be moved out of the intensive care unit and into a regular room at the hospital. Sources tell the website that he no longer needs the intense, 24/7 treatment he’d been receiving since suffering a series of frightening seizures after a suspected codeine overdose from his abuse of “sizzurp,” a mixture of cough syrup and alcohol.

The new report indicates that Wayne has been walking around the floor of the hospital on his own, though accompanied by a security team. TMZ also reports that he’s now eating on his own again, adding that he could possibly be discharged from the hospital in the near future.

Lil Wayne’s Possible Permanent Damage

While the rapper is thankfully on the road to recovery, there’s a possibility that he’s suffered permanent damage. "We're glad that [Lil Wayne] is getting better, but he's not out of the woods yet," an insider told MediaTakeOut.com

According to MTO’s report, while the doctors are doing everything they can to ensure the rapper returns to a healthy state, they don’t believe he will walk away without some permanent damage to his liver.

As Dr. Phil Denbo exclusively told HollywoodLife.com, the concoction that Wayne was regularly drinking "increases heart rate and causes liver damage."

"It's like drinking poison," he said. "A person can overdose on this poisonous mixture. A mixture of substances in order for a high is a dangerous way to party."

We’re glad to hear that Lil Wayne is on the road to recovery.
