LA’s Power 106 radio station caused a lot of confusion on March 29 when they tweeted that Chris Brown, 23, told deejay Big Boi he’s no longer dating Rihanna. But it seems that Chris’ comment was from a different interview — one from last year, a source close to the situation reveals to HollywoodLife.com exclusively.
A source close to the situation tells HollywoodLife.com exclusively, “The Power 106 clip [that is going around the internet] is partly new, but then it cuts to old footage, and then back to new again. You’ll notice he’s wearing two different sets of clothes [in the video].”
Chris Brown Denies Dating Rihanna
Although the interview, including a clip where Chris is heard saying he’s split from Rihanna, doesn’t air until April 1, LA’s Power 106 radio station tweeted a snippet on March 29.
The radio station wrote, “‘Are you still w/ @Rihanna?’ @ChrisBrown: ‘Uh, no-that's the short answer' just now to @BigBoy POWER 106 LA @TuneIn.”
HollywoodLife.com learned, however, that this was merely a clip from a previous interview, intertwined with the new one. The tweet wasn’t exactly clear.
From Chris’ responses to other questions about Rihanna, it’s clear he wasn’t comfortable discussing his girlfriend during the March 29 interview. When Big Boi asked Chris about the last time he saw Rihanna, he awkwardly replied, “I plead the 5th. You know I didn't lie to you man, I just didn't tell the truth. Man it has been a minute though, cuz I haven't had a chance to go out there on the tour yet. ‘Cause I've been working, but I seen her right before she went out.”
Rihanna and Chris are definitely still an item — hooray!
