Seth Meyers might be going from Weekend Update to late-night talk show host! According to Page Six, Jimmy and SNL creator Lorne Michaels are grooming Seth for the position.
Is Seth Replacing Jimmy?
We told you that NBC executives are plotting to replace Jay Leno with Jimmy and now Page Six claims: “Lorne Michaels wants Seth to take over from Fallon. It would be perfect for him. Tina Fey's name had also come up, but she has said she was too busy to do it.”
Is ‘The Tonight Show’ Coming To NYC?
Also in the report, is that NBC is already working to move the show from LA to NYC in a state-of-the-art studio for Jimmy at the 30 Rock building.
But this coveted 11:35 PM time slot in 2014 is causing a lot of issues and Jay isn’t happy about this at all!
Sources tell HollywoodLife.com that: “Jay Leno would be pursued immediately if he left NBC and a contract would be given to him from FOX. All he would have to do is say ‘Yes’ because Fox would be extremely interested.”
