Vivid Entertainment, the company that owns Kim Kardashian’s sex tape, tells Hollywoodlife.com EXCLUSIVELY that they would ‘love’ to buy Joe’s alleged tape!
On March 21, rumors surfaced that former Disney star, Joe Jonas, 23, and girlfriend, Blanda Eggenschwiler, filmed a kinky sex tape that will be released April 3. Although Joe denied the sex tape rumors, Vivid Entertainment founder/co-CEO Steve Hirsch tells Hollywoodlife.com exclusively that, if the tape exists, Vivid wants to buy it.

“According to reports, this is supposed to be a kinky and explicit tape,” Steve explains. “We haven’t seen it yet but we’d love to make an offer on it. We know we could make it into a huge best seller.”

If Joe is telling the truth about there not being a tape, he has nothing to worry about. But if the tape does exists, the singer could have quite a battle ahead of him. Ken Basin, Entertainment Lawyer & Associate Chair of the Entertainment Department of Greenberg & Glusker in L.A., explains to Hollywoodlife.com exclusively how Joe can keep the tape from being released.
“The most common way to restrict the distribution of a sex tape is copyright infringement,” Ken says. “ The problem is, his girlfriend and the cameraman are co-owners of the copyright. The rule is when you have multiple owners, any owner can grant a non-exclusive license.”
“When you’re dealing with copyright material, you can sell it and the other party owns it,” Ken explains. “Or you can grant exclusive license in which you continue to own it and the party you granted rights to is the only party that can publish it. A non-exclusive license gives someone the right to use the material and other parties can also be granted to use the material. The default rule is that joint owners cannot grant exclusive licenses without the consent of all owners.”
Unless Joe had no knowledge of the alleged tape being made, Joe’s girlfriend or the cameraman would both be able to publish the tape without Joe’s consent. If Joe was aware and the supposed tape is released, Ken believes Joe’s best option is to “buy his way out of it directly” with Blanda and the cameraman before the tape hits the internet.
