A suspect has been arrested for the Boston Marathon explosions. Authorities arrested a man after a ‘dark-skinned male’ was seen in surveillance footage carrying and dropping a black bag at the second explosion scene.
Two days after a massive explosion claimed the lives of three and injured at least 183 people at the Boston Marathon on April 15, authorities have arrested a suspect. A dark skinned man in a dark shirt has been seen on surveillance footage dropping a black bag right where the second explosion occurred. He has been taken to court.
Suspect Arrested For Boston Marathon Bombings
An arrest has been made in the Boston bombings investigation based on two videos showing images of the suspect, a federal law enforcement source told CNN’s Fran Townsend. He has been taken to federal court.
“Authorities have an image of a suspect carrying, and perhaps dropping, a black bag at the second bombing scene,” The Boston Globe reported earlier. “Officials are ‘very close’ in the investigation of the Boston Marathon bombings. Bombing suspect possibly identified.”
A law enforcement official told CNN that the progress is a “game changer,” and since then a suspect has been arrested.
A surveillance camera at clothing store Lord & Taylor, which is across the street from the second explosion site, provided clear images from moments before the bombings.
The two explosions occurred the finish line of the marathon, killing three people and injuring at least 183. Many of those suffered injuries from flying shrapnel, including nails and ball bearings.
