Following the alleged terrorist attack at the April 15 Boston Marathon, both President Barack Obama and Senator Roger Wicker received poison tainted letters. How scary.
The terrifying explosions at the Boston Marathon on April 15 are being considered a suspected act of terrorism, and following the shocking event, President Barack Obama and Senator Roger Wicker of Mississippi received identical threatening letters that were laced with ricin poison. The letters were signed “KC,” and said that “people will die” if the author was not heard. Are the letters related to the marathon?
President Obama Sent Ricin Letter
The two letters were intercepted on April 16, and neither reached the Hill or The White House. The letter that was sent to the president is still being screened, reports FOX News.
“To see a wrong and not expose it, is to become a silent partner to its continuance,” was the message written, and both were signed, “I am KC and I approve this message.”
Other chilling words included, “You haven't listen to me before. Now you will, even if people have to die.”
Sen. Claire McCaskill, D-Mo., told the Associated Press police have a suspect in mind: ”The person that is a suspect writes a lot of letters to members.”
Ricin is said to have been found on the letters, and it can be deadly when inhaled. The FBI are still investigating, and it is unclear whether the letter had any connection to the Boston bombings. The envelope had a Tennessee postmark and no return address.
The president is most concerned for this country’s safety, as he said in a press conference on April 15 that he would find the perpetrator of the marathon attack.
President Obama addressed the horrific explosions:
Good afternoon, everybody. Earlier today, I was briefed by my homeland security team on the events in Boston. We're continuing to monitor and respond to the situation as it unfolds. And I've directed the full resources of the federal government to help state and local authorities protect our people, increase security around the United States as necessary, and investigate what happened.
We still do not know who did this or why. And people shouldn't jump to conclusions before we have all the facts. But make no mistake — we will get to the bottom of this. And we will find out who did this; we’ll find out why they did this. Any responsible individuals, any responsible groups will feel the full weight of justice.
You should anticipate that as we get more information, our teams will provide you briefings. We’re still in the investigation stage at this point. But I just want to reiterate we will find out who did this and we will hold them accountable.
What do YOU think HollywoodLifers? Are you worried for the president?
