Dr. Kermit Gosnell Found Guilty Of Three Counts Of First-Degree Murder
Dr. Gosnell was found guilty of three counts of first-degree murder in the deaths of Baby A, Baby C, and Baby D, but he was not found guilty in the capital murder of Baby E.
He was also found guilty of the involuntary manslaughter of one of his patients, a 41-year-old mother who received a lethal dose of painkillers, according to CNN.
Dr. Gosnell — who is not a board-certified obstetrician or gynecologist– was charged with horrifically killing the babies by snipping their necks with scissors after they had been born alive at his clinic.
He was also accused of performing hundreds of illegal late-term abortions — in Pennsylvania, it is against the law to perform an abortion after 24 weeks of pregnancy.
Dr. Kermit Gosnell faced a total of 17 charges, and 242 counts.
