The wedding is off! Catelynn and Tyler called off their July 13 nuptials, but is there still hope for everyone’s favorite Teen Mom couple? ‘Couples Therapy’ therapist Dr. Jenn Berman spoke to HollywoodLife.com EXCLUSIVELY about what led them to make the difficult decision.
We’re so sad to hear that Catelynn Lowell and Tyler Baltierra called off their July 13 wedding! The couple spent four seasons on MTV’s Teen Mom, where they got engaged in front of the cameras, and later wound up on VH1′s Couples Therapy to try to solve their anger and trust issues. But after they announced that they had called off their wedding, HollywoodLife.com spoke to Dr. Jenn Berman EXCLUSIVELY, therapist on the show, about what went wrong for the once happy couple.
Tyler & Catelynn Call Off Their Wedding
The couple, who had originally planned on getting married on July 13 in Michigan, put their wedding plans on hold after Tyler revealed, “I thought I was ready, but as the time gets close, I just don’t think so.”
Tyler dropped the bomb in Catelynn during a therapy session, which will air on the July 17 episode of Vh1′s Couples Therapy. Although Tyler and Catelynn were forced to make the difficult decision to cancel their wedding, Dr. Jenn cites therapy as an important part in helping the two make the tough choice, saying that it “without a doubt” helped. She told HollywoodLife.com EXCLUSIVELY:
I think therapy was an integral part in them coming to this realization of what they need to do and they both did amazing therapy. They both did really deep, meaningful work and I think had a lot of revelations and insight as a result of their work with me.
Dr. Jenn: Tyler and Catelynn Are Role Models
Some may be shocked and saddened to learn about the fate of Tyler and Cate’s wedding, which the couple had planned out for more than a year. But Dr. Jenn emphasized how courageous the couple was in coming to this decision. She believes that their fans will completely understand why they chose to cancel the wedding after watching the July 17 episode of Couples Therapy. She told HollywoodLife.com EXCLUSIVELY:
I think that what Tyler and Catelynn did shows tremendous courage and I hope that they will be a role model for other young couples out there, because I think that when people see what they did tonight, I think that they will first of all, just only respect them more, and secondly, I hope that they will be role models for other couples who are in that situation.
Catelynn & Tyler: Will They Ever Get Married?
Dr. Jenn does not believe that this is the end of the couple, telling HollywoodLife.com EXCLUSIVELY that they may still eventually get married:
I think it is very possible. These are two people who love each other very much but they both have some work that they have to do before either one of them would be ready to marry each other or anyone else.
