Kylie Jenner may be just 15-years-old but she’s quickly on her way to becoming a a beauty guru just like her older Kardashian sisters! Kylie’s July 16 Instagram showed off her new manicure and we’re obsessed with her dramatic black nails and want to show you how to get a similar look for yourself.
Kylie Jenner’s Black Nails — Get Her Dramatic Look
We know that Kylie’s look is intense, but it’s super easy to customize it and make it work for yourself. Kylie got her nails done at esNAIL, a celebrity favorite nail salon in Los Angeles, but we’ll show you to to get the look on your own.
The first step in getting Kylie’s manicure is shaping your nails! Kylie has opted for a super long nail look, which probably involves an acrylic nail of some sort. For those of you who aren’t a fan of artificial nails, we recommend that you actually keep your nails short. Dark and dramatic colors tend to look best with either super short or super long nails, because both lengths allow the color to make an impact.
How To Get Nails Like Kylie
After you’ve shaped and filed your nails down, it’s time to pick a shade of black! We love the classic Chanel Le Vernis in Black Satin. The shade was so coveted when it first launched in 2006 that Chanel actually created a wait-list, and bottles were being auctioned off online for upwards of $100!
Start with a base coat like Chanel Base Protectrice, to protect the dark polish from staining your nails. Then, apply two coats of Black Satin. Finally to protect the color and add shine, use a top coat like Chanel Laque Brillance Extreme.
