Today, July 17, is one year to the day that Kristen’s world came crumbling down, when her affair with Rupert was revealed and she lost the love of her life.
Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart were Hollywood’s most stable couple, until it was suddenly revealed on the cover of Us Weekly that Kristen had been having an affair with her married Snow White & The Huntsman director Rupert Sanders on July 17 2012. One year later, HollywoodLife.com is looking back at the past twelve months, and how dramatically Kristen’s life has changed since.
Rupert Sanders & Kristen Stewart’s Affair Revealed
Kristen, then 22, was caught in the embrace of her former director Rupert, then 41, in a parking lot in LA, and Kristen was distraught when the news was released. Following the release of the damaging and intimate photos, Kristen finally admitted that she and Rob were a couple.
She issued a passionate and honest apology, saying: “This momentary indiscretion has jeopardized the most important thing in my life, the person I love and respect the most, Rob. I love him, I love him, I’m so sorry.”
Twilight fans were devastated that Kristen and Rob were no more, but they were thrilled to see RobSten reunite at Halloween!
Kristen Stewart & Robert Pattinson Get Back Together
Kristen and Rob appeared to be slowly reuniting and rekindling their romance in October, and on Halloween night they made their first public appearance at an LA party, and fans went wild! They had a romantic two months together, and even spent time at Rob’s home in England over Christmas.
However, when Rob went to Australia in January 2012 to film The Rover, he and Kristen went on a trial separation which devastated her. He refused to talk to Kristen, but when he returned to LA in March, they reunited at their favorite bar Ye Rustic Inn.
Kristen & Rob Break Up Again
Kristen and Rob seemed happy for a couple months, and he threw her an elaborate birthday party in April. But by May 2013, they broke up once and for all because Rob could not get over the fact that Kristen cheated on him, and he was worried she was still in contact with Rupert.
HollywoodLife.com learned:
Kristen wanted Rupert Sanders to direct the second Snow White movie and Rob was flabbergasted that she would even want to work with him in any capacity after all that was done, adding that with the texts he found just blew his mind that she would test him like that. She kept testing him over and over till he couldn't handle it anymore.
It’s so sad that Rob and Kristen couldn’t make it work, and this was truly the end of an era. Rob is now dating Kristen’s former co-star Riley Keough, and Kristen took it hard.
However, she has recently been spotted out and about in LA smiling from ear to ear, so she seems to be moving on too, and with the right attitude. You go girl!
