Kate Middleton is a creature of habit! The stylish Duchess wore one of her favorite silhouettes, a Seraphine maternity dress, and looked appropriate and chic, (as always), in the first family portrait featuring the new prince. The casual family portrait, captured by Kate’s dad, Michael Middleton, definitely shows a more relaxed side of the royals as they posed in the sunny garden at the Middleton home, all while Prince George peacefully slept in his mother’s arms. Given their casual approach to the first official portrait it comes as no surprise that Kate opted for an affordable frock, right from her closet! It’s clear the Seraphine knot maternity dress is a go-to for the new mom — in fact, she showed off the same dress in a different print the day after leaving the hospital!

While Kate looked stunning when she exited the hospital in a polka-dot, bepsoke Jenny Packham dress, the new mom opted for a more casual look for the portrait, wearing a Seraphine maternity dress that retails for just $79. Her fuchsia frock featured an empire waist that’s meant to flatter the female form both during and after the pregnancy. The knot detailing gave way to draping that flowed around the Duchess’ svelte frame. The deep-v neckline looked lovely on Kate — but that’s not all! Kate first debuted the Seraphine dress in a blue blossom print on July 24, when she took Prince George on his first outing to visit his grandparents, (the Middleton’s), in Bucklebury.
From the classic silhouette to the vibrant colors and prints it comes as no surprise that Kate is a major fan of the frock — and we can’t get enough of the affordable price tag!
