Lee Thompson Young was found dead by his landlord on August 19, and while his passing has been ruled a suicide, no note was found in his North Hollywood apartment.
Lee Thompson Young: Suicide Note — Not Found With Actor’s Body
Lee, 29, allegedly had kept a diary, but upon first glance, no entries revealed why he would take his own life, TMZ claims. The Famous Jett Jackson star reportedly died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound, the reported.
The actor, who most recently starred on TNT’s Rizzoli & Isles, was allegedly last seen on Saturday, August 17. He is believed to have taken his life that day.
Friends and family who have spoken out since Lee’s death say he had no apparent serious life issues, so those close to the actor are still baffled by this sad and horrific news.
"It is with great sadness that I announce that Lee Thompson Young tragically took his own life this morning," Lee's longtime manager Jonathan Baruch told HollywoodLife.com. "Lee was more than just a brilliant young actor, he was a wonderful and gentle soul who will be truly missed. We ask that you please respect the privacy of his family and friends as this very difficult time."
Lee Thompson Young Had A Successful Acting Career
After starring in the Disney Channel's The Famous Jett Jackson, Lee, who was born in Columbia, S.C., appeared in the 2004 movie Friday Night Lights, ABC's FlashForward, Scrubs, The CW's Smallville, and films such as Akelah and the Bee and The Hills Have Eyes 2. He most recently starred as detective Barry Ross, partner of Jane Rizzoli (Angie Harmon), on Rizzoli & Isles.
