One Direction are following in the footsteps of Justin Bieber and Katy Perry by releasing their first concert movie! Zayn Malik, Harry Styles, Niall Horan, Louis Tomlinson and Liam Payne hit the red carpet at London’s Leicester Square on August 20 for the premiere of One Direction: This Is Us, and you can watch the red carpet right here.
‘One Direction: This Is Us’ Livestream
One Direction’s debut documentary film premiered in the English capital on August 20, and the boys looked smart and suave in suits for their big appearance.
“These boys are so charming and so fantastic, I challenge you to go to the movie and not like them after the film is done,” said the director Morgan Spurlock to Billboard magazine.
“Part of the reason they’ve been so incredibly successful with their fans is that they are so incredibly grounded and normal, and that’s what comes off in the movie. … You see five guys who are the same five guys they were three years ago.”
One Direction Speak About New Film
Speaking about the film, the boys admit that it will be nice to have a physical memory of their last tour.
“Because so much is happening to us you kind of just lose it all,” said Louis. “It’s great just to sit back and watch it back and remember and relive those moments.”
“In a way it was really strange having the cameras around, but at the same time it didn’t make that much difference,” added Harry. “It was kind of just getting on with your day while having someone in your way when you’re trying to get out the door.”
When asked about how many hard partying scenes are in the film, 1D gave a disappointing answer.
“We like to think we’re rock ‘n’ roll, but we’re not, really,” said Louis. “It’s a shame.”
One Direction: This Is Us opens in Britain on August 29 and in the United States on August 30.
