Sydney Leathers recently made the leap from sexting mistress to adult star, and now she is at the forefront of a HIV scare. Anthony Weiner’s online friend has come forward however to reveal that she is NOT HIV positive.
Sydney Leathers, 23, has released a statement saying that she is NOT HIV positive, following a health scare in the adult industry. Sydney recently filmed an Anthony Weiner themed sex tape, and after her partner Xander Corvus‘ had to be checked, Sydney also received a test. Read on for all the details.
Sydney Leathers’ HIV Scare
Sydney had unprotected sex in her film Weiner & Me with Xander, an adult-film star, who three weeks ago filmed a sex scene with a female porn actress who recently tested positive for HIV, reports the New York Daily News.
Sydney took a grand total of three tests, all of which thankfully came back negative.
Sydney herself released a statement, saying:
I do not have HIV and have not been exposed to HIV regardless of the reports out there saying otherwise. I was not contacted by the Free Speech Coalition to re test, I reached out to them to see if I should re test and was told I did not need to. I took all the necessary precautions before and after my scene for Vivid and acted responsibly and therefore was able to protect myself from exposure to anything. As an added precaution I retested 2 days after my shoot and again yesterday and all tests were negative.

On August 21, Sydney announced that she would be releasing her debut tape, and the explicit parody movie sees Sydney go through a laughable audition searching for the "perfect weiner" for her porn debut. After she finds her perfect weiner in Xander, the movie parodies her sexting dialogue with the former congressman and current NYC Mayoral candidate Anthony.
Speaking exclusively to HollywoodLife.com about why she chose to feature in a sex tape, Sydney says “I mean I’m kinda at the point where I am keeping all my options on the table. People are going to judge me any way. I mean, who wouldn’t think about it.”
"I'm excited about the release of my first hardcore movie" says Sydney. "It's almost as if there's been a natural progression for me from just flirting with sexting messages to starring in Weiner and Me. I'm hoping that Carlos will take a peek at it because I'm sure that he will love it."
On Oct. 5 the movie will debut on VividTV (7:30pm PT/10:30 ET) and go on sale in stores across the country.
