Beyonce has been open about her difficult relationship with her dad Mathew Knowles, whom she fired as her manager in 2011, but reports have surfaced that the Bow Down singer’s dad hasn’t even met his own granddaughter Blue Ivy Carter. Now, the hurt father has finally opened up about their strained relationship in a new interview!
Mathew revealed to UK’s The Sun that his relationship with his oldest daughter is strained, not only professionally — Beyonce fired her dad as her manager in 2011 — but also personally.
“This was not a normal ending of a business agreement. This was a dad and a daughter and it was incredibly painful and it had some difficulties,” he tells The Sun.

“It was hard for me to let her go — it was hard for both of us to let each other go. And let's be clear on that. She didn't let me go, we both let each other go. That's a big difference,” he reveals.
Although he didn’t adress the reports that he has never met his granddaughter Blue Ivy, he says he is still trying to find peace after the ordeal.
“But I try to always have a positive mind about things and you got to do it the right way,” he adds.
Beyonce Opens Up About Firing Dad As Manager
Queen Bey revealed in an interview with Oprah Winfrey for her show Oprah’s Next Chapter why she severed ties with her dad.
"It took a while for me and my dad to have an understanding. When I turned 18 and started handling my business more, he went into shock. And we had our issues. I'd say 'No' to something, and he'd book it anyway,” she told Oprah.
“Then I'd have to do it because I'd look bad [if I didn't]. We would fight sometimes, and it took about two years, to when I was 20, for him to realize, 'Oh, she is an adult now, and if she doesn't wanna do something, I can't make her do it.'"
