The FBI and Boston police are deservedly being praised for the swiftness with which they caught Tamerlan & Dzhokhar Tsarnaev, because it is possible the brothers were not finished carrying out murderous acts of terror. Reportedly, the brothers told the man whose car they stole that they were heading to New York City next. Keep reading for the haunting details.

Investigators digging to find the motive for why Dzhokhar and Tamerlan Tsarnaev set off bombs at the Boston Marathon finish line uncovered a terrifying revelation — before being caught by police on April 19, the brothers were planning on traveling to New York City.

Boston Bombing Brothers Planned On Going To New York City

The brothers carjacked a Mercedes-Benz during their escape attempt on April 19 and not only told the driver that they were responsible for the Boston bombings, but also told him that they were planning on going to New York City, according to the New York Times. The suspects did not reveal what they planned to do there though.

Boston Police Commissioner Ed Davis, had an idea. Speaking with CBS News’ Face the Nation, he said, “We have reason to believe, based upon the evidence that was found at the scene — the explosions, the explosive ordnance that was unexploded and the firepower they had — that they were going to attack other individuals.”

Wow. It is absolutely horrifying that these brothers may have been planning more attacks against innocent people. But it also reinforces the incredible job done by authorities to quickly locate and capture — and in Tamerlan’s case, kill — the terrorist brothers.

Dzhokhar Tsarnaev Officially Charged

On Apr. 22, Dzhokhar was read his charges from a hospital bed. The bomber was charged with conspiring to use weapons of mass destruction against persons and property in the U.S. resulting in death, as well as one count of malicious destruction of property by means of an explosive device resulting in death. If convicted, Dzhokhar could face the death penalty.

We are so thankful for all the heroes in Boston who prevented further violence and are bringing justice to these dangerous brothers.
