Boston Marathon Bombings: Suspect Two Still At Large
Police were able to shoot and kill Suspect One — the man seen wearing a black hat on the day of the Boston Marathon — early on April 19, but the white-hatted Suspect Two was able to get back into their car and speed away, according to a Watertown resident.
Boston is currently in full lockdown — public transportation has been shut down, all schools and most offices are closed, and police are asking residents to remain inside. Suspect Two is considered extremely dangerous, according to officials.
Officials called the situation “grave.” That may be because when Suspect One was taken to the hospital, it was discovered that he had multiple explosives strapped to his body, according to CNN. The thinking is that Suspect Two may also have such explosive devices on him.
Police Shootout Kills One Of Two Boston Bombing Suspects
The violence began at 10:30 PM on April 18 in Cambridge, Mass. when Suspect Two robbed a 7/11. A Massachusetts Institute of Technology campus policeman was then gunned down by the suspect after responding to a suspicious incident. The two suspects were then chased to the small neighborhood of Watertown, where they engaged in a violent shootout.
