Paula Deen‘s good fortune is getting slimmer by the minute. The southern chef was dropped by Walmart, Home Depot and Caesars Entertainment Corporation just moments after her sit down interview with Matt Lauer, in which she said: “I is what I is and I’m not changing.” But perhaps it’s not just her apology gone wrong that caused these big brands to cut ties with the 66-year-old.
Paula Dumped From Major Corporations After Apology & Accused Of Homophobic Slurs
Not only is Paula being accused of racism, she is now being accused by another former employee, Renee Mincey McDonald, of referring to homosexuals in a derogatory manner. She told the National Enquirer that Paula referred to the employees as “f******.”
After Paula sat down with Matt and said that she had only used the “N-word” one time, Caesars Entertainment released this statement:
“While we appreciate Paula’s sincere apologies for statements she made in her past that she recently disclosed during a deposition given in response to a lawsuit, after thoughtful consideration of their impact, we have mutually decided that it is in the best interests of both parties to part ways at this time.”
Walmart said the following in their own statement:
“We will not place new orders beyond those already committed. We will work with suppliers to address existing inventories and agreements.”
Also, Smithfield, a company where Paula sells a line of Paula Deen hams, said that they “condem the use of offense and discriminatory language” and then they terminated their partnership with her.
