‘The Vampire Diaries’ star trades fangs for a firearm on the poster for his new big-screen thriller.
We’re still two months away from the return of The Vampire Diaries, but thankfully, fans clamoring for their Ian Somerhalder fix are being offered a brief reprieve. The smolder-er himself, 34, stands front-and-center on a just-released poster for his new thriller The Anomaly, which finds him all-dressed-up and ready for action. (He may not be starring in Fifty Shades of Grey, but that doesn’t mean Ian can’t still do serious damage in a suit!)
Though The Anomaly doesn’t yet have a release date, principal photography began in late May 2013, with shooting taking place all across London.

HollywoodLife.com‘s sister site Deadline reports that The Anomaly “follows the travails of a traumatized ex-soldier who wakes up in the back of a van, alongside a kidnapped boy, to find that he only has only nine minutes and 37 seconds of consciousness to work out why and how he got there.”
Ian aside, The Anomaly also stars Alexis Knapp, Brian Cox, Luke Hemsworth – yes, the mysterious third Hemsworth brother — and many more.
