Katy Perry, 27, looked gorgeous in two different outfits while in NYC on Aug. 12. Check out her chic, trendy looks and vote for the look you liked better! Katy Perry’s Velvet Ensemble Katy first visited Z100 Studio in New York City, posing in a gorgeous vintage Betsey Johnson dark red velvet dress and black sheer tights. This first look had a bit of a punk rock, gothic feel. She made the vintage frock trendy with some black combat boots and a silver belt to cinch her waistline. The dress featured a black leather strap on her left shoulder that tied in the edgy pieces to the getup. The singer wore her jet black hair down and kept it casual. Her makeup was flawless, opting for a deep rose lipstick that complimented the look perfectly. The velvet was a little heavy for August, but Katy definitely pulled it off! This was supposed to be where she was premiering her new single “Roar,” but sadly, it already leaked over the weekend. On Aug. 11, she tweeted, "NEW YORKERS. MEET ME at 8:30AM AT 32 AVENUE OF THE AMERICAS. I HAVE SOMETHING TO SHOW YOU. #ROAR” This was supposed to pump up her fans for the big debut. Katy Perry’s Black & White Getup Later that night, Katy was seen in NYC’s West Village at restaurant Lyon. She wore a black leather skater skirt, making it trendy with a fuzzy animal-print sweater. Was she still promoting “Roar” even during some downtime at dinner? The look was super chic, especially with the black combat boots that Katy had been wearing earlier. Her makeup was HOT, opting for a smokier eye and a darker, ‘going out’ lipstick than we saw on the star in the morning. Our favorite part about the night was that she was hanging out with Rihanna!
