Read on to find out all the romantic details! Katie Couric is officially set to say “I do” to boyfriend John Molne! The 56-year-old TV personality said “yes” to her banker boyfriend of two years in East Hampton over the holiday weekend, according to People. Katie Couric & Boyfriend John Molne Get Engaged Over Labor Day Weekend John reportedly popped the question on the beach during sunset in East Hampton over the weekend, according to People. John, 50, is the head of mergers and acquisitions at Brown Brothers Harriman in NYC. The two first announced their relationship to the world in April 2012, and Katie told the press, “He’s great. He’s from Chicago. I love Midwesterners!” This isn’t the first marriage for Katie, though. Sadly, her first husband, Jay Monahan, died of colon cancer in 1998. Together they have two daughters: Ellie, 21, and Carrie, 17. While a wedding date hasn’t been set yet, it’s possible the two could expand their family. In Aug. 2012, the TV journalist told Good Housekeeping magazine that she wishes she had more kids: I love being around my kids. I’m not a particularly solitary person. I like a big, chaotic household — noise, commotion, laughter! Sometimes I think I should have had six kids. Or I wish I’d had one [more] at 37, but I was busy. My career. Katie became a household name when she was hired as the co-anchor for Today in 1991. She held that position for 15 years, then left in 2006 to become the new anchor and managing editor of CBS Evening News. Today she hosts her own talk show, Katie, which begins its second season on Sept. 9. We’re so happy that Katie’s found love again! It’s definitely going to be a great year for her!
